Visiting “Les Vignerons de Carthage” (UCCV)
Saturday, December 8th, 2012Tanks West of Hammamet
Thursday, April 19th, 2012On one of my offroad trips I found some old tanks standing peacefully on a hill a few kilometres west of Hammamet. At closer inspection the whole area seemed to be an old shooting terrain of the Tunisian army. The tanks are also the main tourist attractions on quad trips from Hammamet.

Saturday, April 14th, 2012In March we hit the road down south to Douiret, a little village near Tataouine. In Douiret we stayed in a nice Troglodyte Hotel “Hotel Résidence Douiret” in the old town. The following days we made several excursions to Chenini and the Ksour in the area. On our way home we stayed one night in Houmt Souk on Djerba to also visit some of the spots which appeared in the Star Wars movies.

Share on FacebookHeavy Snow Fall in Jendouba Governorate, Tunisia
Monday, March 5th, 2012The region around Ain Draham, Jendouba Governorate, saw heavy snow fall in February of this year. The region gets snow almost every year, but usually only a few centimetres. This year it was extreme with up to a meter of snow in some regions. Later the region experienced heavy rainfall and together with the melting snow it had to endure flooding and landslides cutting several villages off for days. The inhabitants of the region received a lot of emergency aid from the government but also from Tunisians who drove in convoys to the region to distribute warm clothes, blankets and food.
On a Sunday a Tunisian friend accompanied me to this town in the hills of Northwestern Tunisia. These are some of the pictures of of our trip.
